Wendy Abascal de la Faverie (pictured) believes in the power of the mind and positive energy. As the Founder & Agent of Change for ‘I belong,' a health and wellness company, she was looking for an organization that met her foundation’s mission of giving back to vulnerable children through positivity and mental wellness. She found what she was looking for at Christel House.
“I wanted to start the mission of my foundation in my hometown,” says Wendy, who was born and raised in Mexico City. She was introduced to Christel House Mexico during a meeting with Nancy Gillespie, a Christel House International board member. Wendy felt Christel House Mexico was a perfect match. She was especially taken by the student character development programming that is part of the Christel House model. “Strength of character resonates with ‘I belong’s mission,” says Wendy. With over 6,000 fans on Instagram, Wendy asked her followers, whom she calls “positive thinkers,” if they would make a gift to support Christel House Mexico. The ‘I belong’ foundation then matched their donations.
