Donor support keeps Christel House kids learning

In the middle of a global pandemic that exacerbated the digital divide Christel House students face, donor support to the Christel House “Bridge the Divide” technology fund will keep kids learning. Over 600 new Chromebooks and computer tablets (pictured) have been distributed to students at Christel House Mexico (CHMX). All students now have access to devices and internet coverage. The CHMX school year will start with kids learning remotely for now. “The impact of this virus has been more powerful and severe than any of us could have imagined,” says Harry Guest La Vercombe, CHMX English teacher. “But in true Christel House fashion, our staff and students have proven that perseverance is the name of the game.” He’s impressed how students have embraced virtual learning despite distractions. “These moments remind me how lucky we are to share a space with a student population that values the power of an effective education and have done everything they can to take part.”
